Every month I create a post on the SEO Bitch Instagram celebrating the Employee Of the Month, and every month, the winner is....Bee! At first I set this up as an admittedly hilarious joke and now, each month as I set up the post it reminds me to take the time to really congratulate myself on the hard work I’ve done.
We’ve all had bosses who we wish appreciated us more, and people like me who thrive on positive feedback, need to actually HEAR that appreciation. This left me feeling frustrated with corporate settings where you just plug away feeling like a cog in the machine.
I’m the boss now.
I have the opportunity to be a better boss to me than anyone ever has been, or could be. That includes vocally cheering for myself and my hard work. I do literally everything for this business, including, but not limited to:

Almost all of you who follow me are also small business owners and the only ones who will champion themselves. As well as my posts encouraging myself in my solo business, i hope it encourages you to celebrate yourself, as well.
One of the most valuable things to me in my business is that I get to help people. Often it's people that society has let down, like small businesses in a capitalist landscape, queers, women, and POC. I get so much joy out of my free SEO consultations, whether or not they turn into paid work afterwards, because I get the opportunity to share knowledge, give insights, and be there supporting these people who can really benefit from what I have to offer.
My life/ business coach Adina Kroll is always reminding me to collect evidence of success, of achievements - whatever those look like for me. I work on this with her in her Human Design- based belief sessions, which I absolutely recommend and you can check out on her website (if you book through this link i get an affiliate bonus!). These sessions changed the way I think about myself, how I dictate how I spend my days, and how I know I am successful.
My evidence list is a long list of both the wonderful things that my clients have said about me (which you can read in my reviews page) as well as a list of things I say about myself. It's one way I cheer myself on.
